About Kaleiçi Old Town
Kaleiçi is the historic heart of Antalya: narrow lanes of restored Ottoman houses, boutique hotels, small museums and cafés, sloping down to the old harbour below the cliffs.
Its best-known entrance is Hadrian's Gate, built in honour of the Roman emperor Hadrian's visit in the 2nd century. Look out for the fluted Yivli Minaret and the Hıdırlık Tower, which overlooks the sea at the edge of the old town.
Good to know
Many lanes are pedestrian-only, so cars stop at the edge of the old town. Wear comfortable shoes; the streets are steep and cobbled.
