Antalya Airport (AYT) has two international terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and a separate domestic terminal. Terminal 2 was greatly expanded and reopened in spring 2025. Which terminal you use depends on the airline and can change between seasons, so check your booking or the airline app on the day.
When you book a transfer, give us your flight number. The driver then knows the terminal and the real landing time, even if your flight is moved or delayed.
From the plane to the car
- 1
Passport control
Follow the signs for passport control. Queues can be long on summer afternoons when many flights land at once; allow 20 to 60 minutes.
- 2
Baggage reclaim
Find your flight on the screens for the belt number. Trolleys are available in the hall.
- 3
Customs
Most holidaymakers walk through the green channel. Use the red channel only if you have goods to declare.
- 4
Exit arrivals
After clearing customs, leave the terminal and follow the transfer signs towards the outdoor reception counters.
- 5
Meet your representative
Find the counter letter assigned in your booking confirmation. The local representative checks your booking. If you cannot find them, use the emergency contact in your booking details.
- 6
To the vehicle
The representative escorts you to the designated transfer vehicle collection area and introduces your driver.
Passport and entry rules
British citizens with a British citizen passport do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. According to the UK government, the passport must be valid for at least 150 days after the date you arrive and needs at least one blank page.
German citizens also travel visa-free for up to 90 days within 180 days and, according to the German Foreign Office, can enter with a passport, a national ID card (Personalausweis) or a children's passport.
Rules can change, and other nationalities have different requirements. Always check the official travel advice for your country before you fly.
Money, cards and tipping
The currency is the Turkish lira (TL). Hotels, shops and restaurants in the resorts widely accept cards, and many quote prices in euros as well. You will find ATMs and exchange offices in the arrivals area, but rates at the airport are usually less favourable than in town, so change only what you need for the first day.
Tipping is appreciated but not expected. For a transfer driver who helped with heavy luggage, a few euros or a small amount in lira is a common thank-you.
Phone and internet on arrival
Free airport Wi-Fi and roaming both work in the terminal. If your mobile plan does not include Türkiye, an eSIM bought before travelling is usually the simplest option. Local SIM cards are sold at the airport; foreign phones used with a Turkish SIM for a long time may need to be registered, which matters only for longer stays.
Keep your phone on after landing so your driver can reach you by message if needed.
How long to the hotel?
Lara and Kundu are the closest beach areas, about 15 to 25 minutes away. The city centre takes 20 to 35 minutes, Belek about 35 to 45, Kemer and Side around an hour, and Alanya about two hours. Exact distances and drive times for each hotel are on our hotel pages.
Going back to the airport
At Antalya there is a security check at the terminal entrance, before check-in, and summer queues can be long at every stage. For international flights, plan to be at the terminal around three hours before departure in high season.
Count back from that time to choose your hotel pickup: from Lara add about half an hour, from Belek about 45 minutes, from Side or Kemer about 75 minutes, and from Alanya more than two hours. Give the pickup time and hotel when you book, and be ready in the lobby a few minutes early.
